What is all the fuss about? Today Silver Sea

Are six star cruise lines really as expensive as you think? The common idea is that these luxury brands are too expensive and are for the well off only, but this is not always necessarily the case. With the market getting more and more competitive, cruises with the likes of Crystal, Regent and Silver Sea are not as expensive as they once were. Granted they are still more expensive that the premium market options like Princess and Celebrity at the time of booking. But  as I have mentioned before, when you take into consideration the extras you get with six star lines (varies on ship/ sail date but usually drinks, excursions and gratuities), usually the price per day works out very similar. Not everyone is 100% on the benefits that each line offers, so I thought I would tell you over the next few blogs a little something about each line. Today it is Silver Sea.


First of all Silver Sea visit a variety of ports. Although they do visit the big ports, that most cruisers have been too 5,6,7 times, they also vist smaller ports 'off the beaten track' for a more authentic experience. On board all cabins offer your own view of sea and sky. Silver Sea suites are amongst the most spacious at sea and 85% have private verandas.  All Silver Sea guests will receive the ultimate in personalised service with the white glove attentions of their own professional butler. All meals are included. On board venues include a variety of intimate restaurants, a poolside grill and in-suite dining. In your suite you can enjoy a continental breakfast served by your butler on your private veranda, healthy lunch selections from a Wellness menu, traditional afternoon tea and night after night of divine dinners. All drinks, non-alcoholic or alcoholic are complimentary. They offer an extensive selection of fine wines, spirits, champagne, soft drinks, juice, specialty coffees and bottled water are yours to enjoy not only with meals but throughout the ship. Your preferred selections are even. The Show Lounge presents cabaret-style shows, variety acts, special performances and feature films. Enrichment lecturers host discussions of specialised topics related to the voyage destination. There’s live music and dancing. Casino games and top deck celebrations under the stars. In your suite, films are always complimentary. Gratuities are included on every voyage and no extras are expected.
