Are Small Ships Boring?

The answer to this is NO NO NO. Last Christmas, our company went on a 3 night cruise to Amsterdam on the Fred Olsen Black Watch. At first glance, I did have a slight apprehensive feeling about the next few days, but I thought id defiantly give it a very good go......
Upon dropping our luggage off in the cabin, I spent the next hour of so checking out the facilities of the ship, at first glance they were good but not great. We decided to settle in the top bar at the back of the ship, that is when I first heard the entertainment. It was a small show, with a pianist, but the entire bar had such an incredible atmosphere, people we dancing already and this was only around 6! Our warm welcome was extended when we sat down for dinner; Food was superb and the staff very were friendly, again it had an electric atmosphere. It seemed everywhere I went, I was bumping into familiar faces, which was great as you can go two weeks without seeing the same person twice on larger ships. The whole time onboard, it did not feel like a 28,000 ton vessel, it felt a lot larger, a lot happier than I was expecting. The ship had plenty to do, and I just forgot about all the extra mod cons that a larger ship would have. Over all I learnt a very valuable lesson. Do judge a book by its cover.
