A lot of people ask me where are the best beaches in St Lucia. There is nothing better than to have a relaxing day on the beach, with a good book and a large cocktail. Rodney bay is a horse shoe shaped, white sand public beach. It has monstrous limestone cliffs, covered in rich Greenery that punch out of the ocean.....
My one piece of advice about this beach would be, if you want privacy and would like to be left alone; this is not the beach for you. There are various very friendly local vendors, who look to sell you necklaces and various other volcanic Jewellery. The problem is if you decide to wear your newly purchased item, you will then be inundated with people trying to sell you further items, as the necklace now acts as a “come over to me, I will buy more” trinket. The most beautiful beach I have seen sits right between the Pitons, sadly it is man made, but my god is it perfect (see above). Imagine crystal clear water, pure unblemished white sand, palm trees and of course local cocktails and RUM! This beach can be viewed one of 3 ways. The beach is part of the Hotel, The Jalousie Plantation and this is very expensive Place to stay. My advice would be to just visit the beach one day via taxi, (anyone can enter), or even better go to Joys Boat cruises.
