The answer is that the expense of running the brand, was getting to high, and to continue selling OV, they would have had to drastically increase the fares. This could not be justified as it would have been as expensive as P&O a 4 star brand when OV is only a 3, and as carnival own them both, they could not have them competing against each other. So there you go!
